Install & First Run
This guide covers Ledger Live Desktop installation and the most common issues encountered during setup. Always download Ledger Live from the official Ledger domain or your platform's app store. If you need mobile instructions, see the Ledger Live mobile guide.
Step 1 — Download
Choose the correct installer for your OS. For macOS use the .dmg, Windows the .exe, and for Linux choose AppImage or .deb.
Step 2 — Install & grant permissions
Run the installer and allow necessary permissions. macOS users may need to approve the app in System Preferences → Security & Privacy. Windows users might need Administrator privileges.
Step 3 — First run & device connection
Open Ledger Live, follow the onboarding flows, and connect your Ledger device using the official USB cable. Confirm all prompts on your Ledger device when requested.
Compatibility
Ledger Live Desktop supports modern versions of Windows, macOS, and many Linux distributions. For Bluetooth support, ensure your device and OS version support it (e.g., Ledger Nano X). Check the hardware compatibility list on the official site for specifics.
